A boy came up to Starbuck at the counter today, the kid was i'm willing to bet about fourteen, he looked ten. Boy: Where's the new new found glory? Starbuck: Crap. Boy: (pause...boy looks at me then at davey, blank looks back at him, then uneasily continues) umm... i need the new one sticks and stones. Starbuck: (leans in a little- a tad lounder and with articulation)Crap. (leans back, give a little nod and smile.) (Boy walks off slowly.) Me: (turned now towards davey)Now that is the kind of customer service i like to see in my store. ...as a member of managment i have never been so proud of an employee.
