Nuala: no it's not that. it's just that i think they're, well... dishonest, i suppose.
see, the happy ones aren't about love. they're about being mad with love, and in love with that feeling... and they're fine giddy things, but they aren't true. and the sad ones... well, they're not about love either. they're about pain, and hurt, and people only like them when that's how they're feeling. the songs say "i've had it bad, too-- maybe worse than you. i know what it's like." and that's all they are: just friendly voices to comfort you in the dark.
