i was in the office tonight going threw the stack of old promotional discs we have, seeing if there was anything i wanted to take home with me or anything worth taking to cd warehouse and letting steven buy...and as i'm looking at the stack spin city ends and johnathan flips the station to one where you have the typical memorial crap that was on fox instead of the simpsons earlier tonight. his response (and i quote) "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!" and then he promptly changed the station. i looked at him and he looked at me and asked what. i got all misty eyed by his response and said "thank you, it's great to see i am not the only one."
you see, i like johnathan for many a reason, maily he picks up on every quote from great tv shows like red dwarf and auqa teen hunger force and even classic liturature like all five books in the hitchikers guide trilogy.
did i mention he lookes just like a younger version of wayne from the flaming lips? well he does, it's spooky in a cool way.
but for real here, we got into a discussion on the topic and he said something about a public sevice announcment idea he had along the lines of some one saying "just to spite terrorist, i didn't do a fucking thing out of the ordinary today."

i was driving home from ashley's house last night and i drove by a local hole in the wall bar by the name of bimbo's, and on their sign out front it announced that they bimbo's was to be closed in observance of sept. 11
because they, as a hole in the wall bar in texas, and as an establishment with obviously no real respect for women where so deeply hurt by the attack on our country they had to not sell alcohol to rednecks.
the thing that i feel everyone is missing here, and i think this is a rather big thing, is that the attack of the towers wasn't just like "oh, look something tall and full of americans lets fly into there" the attack was sybolic as an attack on our economic system and our way of life.
so then seeing this, why would people inturn close a business out of respect for the occassion? instead i say they should of opened early and closed late and had a really big sale, or in bimbo's case a really great drink special "spend all your money on alcohol to support this establishment's economic stability and show your love for freedom"
...ok, so i'm getting a little sarcastic but do you atleast understand what i'm saying here? closing stores hurts business which was the whole point of it all, why are you people closing for the day!?
it is i guess just another prime example of the typical lasy american work ethic, oh this tragic thing happend in my contry fourthousand miles away and i didn't know anyone who knew anyone who died...it's so sad, lets close the bar* and go to the beach to mourn.

so i found this site, it's an online rhyming dictionary.
nothing really rhyme's with isaac, poor hampster.

*ok, i by no means know of the proprietor of bimbo's reasons for closing his/her establishment and by no means mean to attack him/her motivation for making the choices they have made in running their business, i was simply using them as an example of one local which happend to be closed today. if they did infact suffer any personal loss of family or friends in the events of last year that really sucks for them and i would be perfectly happy to change my example to another podunk bar, possibly red river(previously known as fanny's).
