While he opened the door she commented that she still didn't know what exactly got everyone so worked up about the study of early humans. Then she entered the narrow living room and surpressed a little cry, seeing the two naked creatured standing inside, the ape-man and the ape-woman.

They were life-size plaster casts of an australopithecine male-female pair, standing just under five feet tall, thier light-brown skin overgrown with short black hair. Their mouths had thin, far protruding lips; thier noses were flat, without bridges. Their foreheads sloped back into thier low skull tops. They had glass eyes with stark brown irises and opalescent whites, deeply buried under overhung eyebrows. They were so realistic that Yinka fought a feeling that something was alive inside them. Captured and kept prisoner in there by the ever unpredictable Ken Lauder.

"So this is your family?" She joked.
...

The man was the furrier one. Rich hair paraded up and down his chest and belly, exploading at the crotch into a wide frontal forest. Out of that forest, the penis at rest hung down like a think brown finger. The woman's genital area was equally well marked; hazing of hiar started under her navel and dipped down till it was sucked into a busy pubic triangle, course and tufting outwards. Overall, she was much less hairy, which revealed that she had no pouches of fat; even her buttocks and thighs stored thier extra fat inside girdings of muscles.
...

Yinka was silent.

Then she commented sarcastically that the artist had gone ape over his casts' genitals. Ken replied that the australopithecines had been in a state of sexual experimentation. The position of thier genitals had shifted, the male's becoming more exposed than in any other mammal, while the female's were now practically hidded, compared to the purple, estrus-inflated genitals of a female ape. It was normal for nature to go overboard in advertising thier new locations. It had done the same with the milk glands, by placing them in cup shaped tits. Meanwhile, the hidden female sex had acquired mystery, a quality unknown or unimportant in other animals but essential in humans for the creation of monogamous relationships.

"Sounds like sex made us human," she smiled.
