todays subject: Elliot
so they have been around for a while, some of you might know them already, some may not. for those of you who do you most likely know the truth to what i am about to say, and if you disagree you either
1)have absolutly no musical a)taste b)appreciation c)umm...have i said taste?,
2)no brain
3)and or are thinking of another band, maybe you think i speak of elliot smith who is a musician and from what i have heard of him isn't all that bad himself...but, i am not speaking of elliot smith today. because as previously stated in the above text, the topic of todays entry is on (just)Elliot.
so i have for the past few weeks, since discovery, been drawn to the cover art work of the (what i have found out) the second full length album by said elliot, an album entitled false cathedrals. last night i decided at work to splurge and make a couple of purchases one being the previously stated album. (for you curious minds i also bought the Punkzilla comp, and new amsterdams never you mind, mind you both are fine albums and wonderful in thier own respect... but must i say it again?... todays topic is still elliot...wasn't i capitalizing the e earlier?...i don't know i think so, but that seems so very unlike me and my anti-capitalization agenda, capital letters and not capitalism economy- to clearify)
waiting to leave work after we had closed, i put elliot in the player not knowing what to expect and promptly spent the next ten minutes or so with my mouth gapping open as wide-eyed i absorbed the contense of the cd booklet.
it was, and is one of the most absolutly amazing records ever. i was in awe, it was/is so totally increadible. to put it simply for those of you that are close to me and know my speach habbits and word usage well, i can't even honestly say it is fantastic because fantastic does not do it justice.
the last time i was so compleatly engulffed was sitting on the bar at the oven taking in my first gloria record show, which was also my first exposure to that which is the gloria record.
...i don't know what else to say... the album, the sound is just beauty. and i know i say the following about a lot of stuff and now i wish i didn't say it so much because you might not listen , but if you have not checked out elliot by now do so.
take money out of your life savings, take money out of your mothers life savings, take it out of her purse(just don't blame it on me if you get in trouble), rob a liquir store, rob the amish, beat up a cop.... what ever you do, if you care at all about music... i've talked to most of you to some extent and i think most of you(with a few exeptions and i know who you are) will be able to appreciate it....
ok, i guess i'm done for today...?
