first day back on the company dime. it was the type of first day back that first days back are always portrayed as. starting with a call from the coke vendor wanting our order(like i have any idea what we have been ordering i haven't worked there since before christmas). i shortly after realized that the closer last night left three trays and a full rack of large dough out so i had to throw that away which will kill food costs tonight. last nights closer also didn't take out the large and over flowing garbage can, which had the bag rip open on my as i was pulling it out of the can to put in the dumpster causing the entire contense of a 40 gallon bag of pizza waste cans, sauce, dudsinator, ect.. to go all over me and the side walk. then apperarently the boxes have changed some how sometime recently i only have about two dozen cuts on my hands to prove it, i even started bleeding from one cut. only a third of the calls we recived where people interested in ordering the other 75 percent (yes i know i don't know my math) where retarded idiots who i wish wouldn't opperate phones, or atleast get a brain before trying to order pizza on credit cards that they know won't go threw and so on. one of the drivers called he was inroute to the hospital, i went down the entire list of drivers who had the day off, only got a hold of one and he had wrecked his car yesterday. oh i almost forgot an inspector from the county health services office came by and since there was no approved certifcate of ablility to properly prepare food (or something stupid like that) i being the active manager got a citation. one of my insiders also was unable to come in only she didn't bother to call. and once four oclock rolled around and other employes started showing up busines compleatly stopped. and to end it all the manager set for tonight is also having his first day back in four months,...i'm glad i opened. highlights of my day include: 1.one of the best breakfasts i've had in a while. my very first meximelt from taco bell, i can't believe i had never had one before. it was so good i felt ashamed. 2.the c.d. player was still in the store. which leads to 3.idlewild, weezer, the get up kids, at the drive in, and especially Ten Foot Pole 4.shannon, wow, came in at about noon to check the schedule, wow, worked at four and came into work wearing the same dress she had on at noon, wow. almost makes me wish i had realized sooner how desperate i was to start working again. (damn my good work manager-employee ethics, i should have said given them up on jenifer but no, so if the chance comes around yes i have absolutly no problem as a member of managment going out with or anything else, to any extent, shannon) 5.i wasted some film when i got home this evening. i noticed tonight that when you open up a diary of your buddy list and the big diaryland frame opens blocking half the screen one of the options on it says fans of so and so (if you replace so and so with the diary's name, unless your at the diary of so and so... if it exists, i think i'll check when i stop babbling). La La, ... so my point - i'm a fan, and more importantly I HAVE FANS!!! retraction as of 05/10/01:closed last night, i take back previous comments, i now know why the girl is working in a pizza place, (not the sharpest tool). |
